A note from Tapan
“Barot felt different. No Instagram chaos, no crowd — just a quiet valley. I stayed for 3 days, but honestly, I’d go back again before this place gets discovered by everyone.”
What I experienced
Barot Valley isn’t a place you hear about often — and that’s exactly why I liked it.
It’s peaceful, simple, and still untouched by heavy tourism. No loud cafés, no rush — just nature and silence.
The Uhl river flows through the valley, and most of my time was spent just sitting near it or walking along the banks.
This place doesn’t offer a lot of ‘things to do’ — and that’s the beauty of it.
I stayed here for 3 days, but it felt like I just scratched the surface. It’s the kind of place you want to return to before it becomes crowded.

Local tips
Things I'd tell a friend before they go.
- Best for people who want peace — not for party or busy trips.
- Stay in homestays — better experience than hotels.
- Carry cash — limited ATM availability.
- Network is weak in some areas.
- Must do: Spend time near Uhl river — that’s the real experience.
- Underrated: Walk into nearby villages and forest trails — very quiet and untouched.
- Visit before it becomes popular — still a hidden gem.
