A note from Tapan
“Gangtok felt different from other hill towns — cleaner, more organized, and less chaotic. It’s not raw like offbeat villages, but it has its own calm vibe.”
What I experienced
Gangtok is not like typical hill stations. It feels more organized and clean.
The roads, traffic system, and overall vibe are very different from places like Manali or Kasol.
MG Marg is the main area — no vehicles, clean streets, and lots of cafés and shops.
It’s not a raw mountain village — it’s more like a well-maintained town in the mountains.
From here, you can explore places like Tsomgo Lake, Nathula Pass, and even plan North Sikkim trips.
The vibe is calm, but slightly commercial — a balance between tourism and peace.
