A note from Tapan
“I did this trek solo — simple, raw, and very doable. Staying one night near the lake and waking up to that sunrise made it completely worth it.”
What I experienced
Kareri Lake trek is one of those simple treks that doesn’t need much planning but still gives a full mountain experience.
The trail goes through forests, rivers, and rocky paths — not too difficult, but enough to feel like a proper trek.
Most people try to do it in one day, but honestly, staying one night near the lake changes everything.
I camped there solo — and waking up to sunrise near the lake was the best part of the whole trek.
It’s not crowded like other treks, and that’s what makes it feel more real.

Day 2

Local tips
Things I'd tell a friend before they go.
- Stay one night near the lake — sunrise experience is worth it.
- Start trek early (7–8 AM) for better pace.
- Carry light backpack — only essentials.
- Good trekking shoes required (rocky + water crossings).
- You can do it in 1 day, but 2 days is better experience.
- Carry snacks and water — limited options on trail.
- Solo doable, but inform someone before going.
