A note from Tapan
“Kasol is crowded, but Kalga changed the whole experience for me. Staying there felt peaceful, simple, and real — the kind of place where you don’t feel like leaving.”
What I experienced
Most people go to Kasol and stay there. I did too at first — but it felt crowded and noisy.
Then I moved to Kalga village, just a short distance away, and everything changed.
Kalga is quiet. No loud cafés, no rush — just wooden houses, apple trees, and mountain views.
I stayed there for 4 days, doing almost nothing — walking around, exploring nearby villages, and just relaxing.
Food was slightly expensive compared to cities, but worth it. One small homestay served chicken curry and rice — simple, but one of the best meals I had.
This place is not about doing things. It’s about slowing down and feeling the mountains.
